Originally incorporated in 1955, the Pensacola Sports Association (PSA) is a private not-for-profit agency and one of the oldest sports commissions in the country.
PSA's annual events include the Pensacola Double Bridge Run, Annual Awards Banquet, High School All-Star Football, Volleyball, Soccer, Softball and Baseball games, Senior Scholar-Athlete Awards Banquet, Racquet Roundup tennis clinics, Bud Light Charity Challenge Tennis Tournament and Pensacola Marathon.
SUBWAY High School All-Star Volleyball
The SUBWAY High School All-Star Series 2014-15 season presented by the Andrews Institute got underway last night with the All-Star Volleyball Game played at UWF.
West overcame being down 3 to 1 and won the night's best-of-seven format.
Congratulations to Sina Faulk of Catholic and Sami Mims of Niceville who were recognized as the Most Valuable Players.
The SUBWAY High School All-Star Series, organized by the Pensacola Sports Association, recognizes senior athletes in volleyball, football, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's basketball, men's baseball, and women's softball from Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Okaloosa County. Sponsors include Academy Sports & Outdoors, the Escambia County Sheriff's Office, the Pensacola Sports Association Foundation, David Bowen's Sporting Goods, COX, MediaCom, and WEAR-TV3.
Since its creation with the inaugural football game in 2004, over 2,900 of the finest athletes from Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa counties have showcased their skills for college scouts, family and classmates and built friendships with former on-field rivals.
Theo Fournerie of France won the 2014 Pensacola Futures Pro Mens Circuit Singles Championship by outlasting opponent Ben McLachlan of New Zealand 6-4, 7-5. This was Theo's first Pro title and we look to see a lot from this 17-year-old in the years to come!
