BUD LIGHT CHARITY CHALLENGE TENNIS

Mark your calendars and get your entry forms in for the 4th annual Bud Light Charity Challenge Tennis Tournament coming September 12th – 13th…….the fun begins Friday Sept. 12th at the Pensacola Racquet Club with tennis matches, dinner, refreshments, a silent auction and much more!

This year’s tournament will benefit ARC Gateway and promises to fill up early – only the first 24 men’s teams and 24 women’s teams will be able to play - $150 entry fee per team includes two matches on Friday and three on Saturday, Friday night food and beverages, Saturday morning breakfast, lunch and dinner, complimentary Budweiser and Coke products, and all the competition you could possibly want.

FINAL PELICANS HOME STAND

The last home stand of the season for the Pensacola Pelicans begins Sunday, August 17th against the Sioux City Explorers…….and concludes on Saturday, August 23 against the Grand Prairie AirHogs. This final game will be preceded by a ceremony naming Spooner Field at Pelican Park at the University of West Florida in honor of long-time UWF baseball coach Jim Spooner.

The ceremony honoring Spooner will begin at 5:15 p.m. and include appearances by current and former UWF players, school and Pelicans officials, and other local community leaders. The ceremony will conclude with the unveiling of a sign commemorating the naming of the field, and Spooner throwing out the Pelicans ceremonial first pitch at the first ever game at Jim Spooner Field at Pelican Park at UWF. Following the ceremonial first pitch from Spooner, the Pelicans first pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. for the last game of the 2008 season. A post-game fireworks display is planned and fans are welcome to bring their own chairs as a standing room only crowd is expected.

The Gulf Breeze Lacrosse club will be hosting their 2nd annual clinic with the support of the Florida State University Men’s Lacrosse Club, Saturday, October 18th at the Gulf Breeze Recreation Center. The Seminoles men’s team will be teaching lacrosse skills to all registered athletes from 9:00 – 12:00. Following the clinic, the FSU team will play a demonstration Garnet vs. Gold game to showcase lacrosse. The exhibition game will take place at 7:30 pm at the Gulf Breeze Recreation Field.

The clinic is open to boys and girls ages 8 through high school senior. You can register online at www.eteamz.com/gulfbreezelacrosse or in person at the Gulf Breeze Recreation Center. Clinic registration fee of $80 includes skill seminars, lacrosse penny and admission to the exhibition game that evening. Admission to the exhibition game only is $5.00.
