JERRY PATE INDUCTION

The newly opened Pensacola Country Club will host the "Wall of Fame" induction banquet for Jerry Pate on Sunday, February 17th. Pate's likeness will be added to the City of Champions Wall of Fame at Pensacola Regional Airport....... joining Emmitt Smith, Derrick Brooks, Don Sutton, and Roy Jones Jr. representing athletes who have achieved phenomenal success in their sport.

Corporate tables and individual tickets are available, but seating is limited so make your plans early - for ticket information, call PSA at 434-2800.
Proceeds from this event will benefit the First Tee of Northwest Florida/Greater Pensacola Junior Golf Association and the Pensacola Sports Association Foundation.

FORT PICKENS CHALLENGE

PSA joins with the National Park Service to inaugurate the year of Fort Pickens restoration with the 2008 FIGHT TO THE FORT ENDURANCE CHALLENGE on March 1, 2008.

A race unlike any other, this run will take you into territory still recovering from the devastating storms of 2004 and 2005, between the beautiful shores of the Gulf of Mexico and Pensacola Bay.

This race challenges 300 athletes to make the trek from the park entrance to the fort and back; although the race will follow the roadway, it will include both pavement and sand and be a true challenge to all who attempt it. Therefore, athletes must be at least 16 years of age and have completed either a marathon, half-marathon, or 15K race prior to registering for the "Fight to the Fort."
Race brochures are available at the PSA office and at Running Wild in downtown Pensacola; further information and online registration is available on www.active.com.
