Are you looking for a way to keep your Escambia County student active during Spring Break? We have an answer!

Boys and girls will have a chance to learn from our area’s best at the “Pensacola Sports Association Gulf Coast Baseball and Softball Clinic” presented by the Pensacola Sports Association. The clinic will be held at the UWF Baseball and Softball Complex on Wednesday, March 21st. UWF and PJC’s baseball and softball squads, as well as the Pensacola Pelicans, will team up to teach area youth the valuable fundamentals of the game. In addition to the on-field instruction for the kids, parents will be encouraged to attend a “Question and Answer Session” in the bleachers during the clinic.

The Pensacola Sports Association Gulf Coast Baseball and Softball Clinics are free for all kids ages 6-14. Don’t miss it – Scoop from the Pensacola Pelicans and IceMan from the Pensacola Ice Pilots will be there! Participants will receive instruction, lunch, and the first 100 registrants are guaranteed a t-shirt. Check-In and Late Registration will run from 8 AM till 9 AM with the on-field instruction starting at 9 AM and concluding at Noon. Lunch and autographs will run from Noon till 12:30 PM.

Applications for the clinic can be downloaded at www.PensacolaSports.com or you can call the PSA office at 850-434-2800 to request an application. Participants are encouraged to register for the clinic prior to clinic dates. Late registration for the clinic will be offered from 8 AM till 9 AM on the morning of the clinic. Annual Awards Banquet

25 local professional and amateur athletes will be honored at the Pensacola Sports Association’s Annual Awards Banquet presented by Cox Communications and Fox Sports Net. The banquet will be held on Friday, April 13th at New World Landing in Downtown Pensacola. Pensacola’s Sportsman of the Year will be honored and new inductees to the PSA Hall of Fame will be announced, along with many other award winners.

The evening will begin with a social gathering and cash bar at 6:00 PM, followed by awards and dinner at 7:00 PM. Our guest speaker will be Buck Showalter, a native of Century, Florida, twice named as Major League Baseball’s American League Manager of the Year. Mr. Dan Shugart of WEAR-TV 3 will serve as master of cereomonies.

Tickets are available to PSA Members for $35, Non-Members for $40, as well as Corporate tables available for $500. Tickets can be purchased at the PSA office located at 101 W. Main Street. Tidbits

In case you missed it, our first ever High School All-Star Soccer Game was a huge hit! The stands were packed to see the best high school senior soccer players from Escambia, Santa Rosa and Okaloosa Counties battle it out! The East Teams, represented by players from Santa Rosa and Okaloosa Counties, came out on top in both the Boys and the Girls match. The East Girls dominated, taking home a 5-1 victory. The Boys game was slightly closer, but the East again pulled out the victory 2-0. Congratulations to all of our All-Stars! Good luck!
