2014 Pensacola Double Bridge Run
Sell-out Field Expected for Second Straight Year
The 17th annual Pensacola Double Bridge Run presented by Publix, a Pensacola Sports Association event, is set for Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014. After the record sell-out field last year of 2,500 15K and 1,500 5K, race officials expect a similar response to this year’s event.
Encompassing 2 bodies of water, 2 bridges, 2 counties, and 3 communities, the 15K is the signature race of Pensacola. Starting in downtown Pensacola, it includes the historic district, Bayfront Parkway, a run through Gulf Breeze, then on to Pensacola Beach. The 5K carries runners and walkers through the sights from Gulf Breeze to beautiful Pensacola Beach on Santa Rosa Island.
Registration for the Double Bridge Run is now open at www.doublebridgerun.com. There is NO day of the race registration.
All 15K finishers will receive a unique commemorative finishers medal.
The Pensacola Sports Association (PSA) is pleased to announce the 2013 All Star Football Game will be played at Pace High School on Friday, December 13.
It will be the top seniors in Escambia County as the West team, vs. the top seniors from Okaloosa and Santa Rosa counties as the East Team. Kickoff is at 7 PM.
Rosters will be posted as soon as they are finalized.
Tickets to the game are $7 and $5 with a canned good. The PSA is teaming with Manna Food Bank for a canned food drive and encouraging everyone to help by bringing a canned good item. Academy Sports + Outdoors will be sponsoring a half-time contest for two lucky fans to win up to $200 in Academy gift cards. Sign up for Academy contests will be at the game.
