ARC Gateway has been opening doors for people with developmental disabilities since 1954. The organization began as a small grassroots organization formed by parents who wanted opportunities for their children to attend school and live in the community. From one small classroom it has grown into an agency that now serves almost 900 children, adults and their families. ARC Gateway grew as its founding parents realized that their children’s needs were changing. Over time, parents, staff and volunteers developed programs to assist in learning job skills, living independently and succeeding in the community.
